CAS

The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) is an institution dedicated to provide quality education in catering general education subjects needed by various courses and curricula. With its dedication to the traditions and values of arts and sciences, CAS transformed itself as an incubator of human curiosity and creativity.

These traditions include the development of moral compass, critical and practical reasoning, writing, reading, and a steady foundation in the theories and methodologies of the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences, mathematics and other allied fields. These values include a strong commitment to quality education, intellectual integrity, community responsibility and continuous improvement.

Established in 1976 as an academic department, where it caters to the academic subject needed by various courses and curricula. It served as the heart of the academe. In SY 1997-1998, the Department of Arts and Sciences started to function as a degree-granting department. It started to offer BS Biology, BS Mathematics, and AB English programs. In June 2005, it started to offer BS Development Communication.


COLLEGE GOAL

Provide quality instruction to students taking courses in General Education and in the Arts and Sciences programs to develop in them functional knowledge and skills and appreciation for the arts, social and natural sciences.
