The Pampanga State Agricultural University (PSAU), represented by its President, Dr. Honorio M. Soriano Jr., entered into an international Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), represented by Dr. Taane Gregory Clark (Professor and Chair, Genomics and Global Health), on February 26, 2019 at the President’s Office in the University Library, Magalang, Pampanga.

Through the initiative of the Nutraceutical Research Laboratory (NRL) and Animal Disease Diagnostics Research Facility (ADDRF), PSAU and LSHTM agreed to develop and implement the following: 1) Academic programs such as study abroad, student exchange, internships, practical training, distance learning, continuing education, cooperative education and service learning; 2) Exchange programs in academic instruction, research, extension and training; 3) Collaborative research projects, extension projects, workshops and conferences; and 4) Exchanges of other institutional information and professionals.

This MOU was conceived to strengthen the existing research collaboration between project leaders Dr. Geraldine C. Sanchez and Dr. Taane Gregory Clark. Their research on genomics of enteric diseases in swine and poultry is filed under the Newton Programme of the British Council and Commission on Higher Education. (JAC Sanchez, RD Cosio)
