The Commission on Higher Education International Affairs Staff (CHED-IAS) conducted an orientation and workshop on PSAU internationalization last February 26, 2020 at the university Farmers Training Center which was organized and facilitated by the External and International Affairs office headed by Dr. Maria Crisella A. Dela Cruz.
Atty. Lily Freida M. Milla, the Deputy Executive Director and Director III of CHED-IAS, served as the keynote speaker. She discussed about the “Internationalization of Philippine Higher Education”. The other speaker, Dr. Myrna Quinto, Far Eastern University Vice President for Academic Development, discussed on “Institutional Internationalization Presentations the FEU Experience” while Ms. Jennifer Montero, also from CHED-IAS, discussed about the “International Relations Office: People, Policies and Procedures, IZN Programs,” and “Internationalization Framework anchored on Sustainable Development Goals.” Ms. Montero, on the other hand, facilitated the workshop on harmonization and calibration of the IZN activities and framing the IZN roadmap for PSAU. She also facilitated the workshop on student, staff, faculty mobility and scholarships, short course programs, student internship programs, IZN research initiatives and the institutional alignment.
The said event was participated by employees of PSAU representing each department, college and offices. Supreme Student Council president and vice president also participated the event. Dr. Honorio M. Soriano Jr., PSAU president, delivered a welcome remarks while the closing remarks was delivered by the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Anita G. David.
The orientation and workshop was a one-day activity that served as a jumpstart of PSAU to the success of the university’s internationalization. (MCA Dela Cruz)
