Pampanga State Agricultural University (PSAU) successfully conducted its Fiscal Year 2026 Strategic Planning Workshop on September 3โ€“5, 2025, with the theme โ€œCharting a Resilient and Sustainable Future through Strategic Alignment and Innovation.โ€ The three-day event provided a vital platform for aligning institutional strategies with national development priorities and global sustainability goals.

Day 1 set the tone with inspiring remarks from University President Dr. Anita G. David, who underscored innovation and resilience as cornerstones of PSAUโ€™s mission. Dr. Rafael R. Rafael, Director for Planning, Project Development, and Monitoring, welcomed participants and led sessions on the Strategic Planning Framework 2026โ€“2030, institutional accomplishments from 2023โ€“2025, and stakeholder analyses through SWOT and PESTLE workshops.

On Day 2, the university community engaged in comprehensive sessions aimed at strengthening strategic alignment. These included the review of PSAUโ€™s Vision, Mission, Core Values, and Development Goals with Prof. Dexter Andrew O. Manalo, Director for Quality Assurance; the formulation of strategic goals with Ms. Elisha Dawn D. Mazon, Head of the Planning Unit; and discussions on resource allocation with Ms. Margie Anne G. Salas. Additional sessions covered the development of initiatives and projects (Ms. Ma. Pia D. Dinio, Assistant Director for Planning, Project Development and Monitoring), gender-responsive planning (Prof. Marrie Anne D. Valerio, Director for Gender and Development), and research priorities (Dr. Rogelio P. Carandang, Jr., Director for Research and Development).

Day 3 culminated in the presentation of PSAUโ€™s 2026โ€“2029 Targets, led by Dr. Rafael, Ms. Mazon, and Dr. David, followed by a Commitment Setting and Signing of the Pledge of Support, facilitated by Dr. Divina C. Ladrillo, Faculty Regent. Certificates were awarded to clusters and technical working groups in recognition of their collaborative efforts, and the workshop closed with Dr. Davidโ€™s remarks highlighting resilience, unity, and innovation as guiding principles toward a sustainable and impactful future.

This Strategic Planning Workshop reaffirmed PSAUโ€™s dedication to evidence-based, inclusive, and gender-responsive initiatives while reinforcing its commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, by strengthening institutional strategies to foster inclusive growth and sustainable innovation.
