Pampanga State Agricultural University (PSAU) has been recognized with the Philippine Quality Award (PQA) – Recognition for Proficiency in Quality Management (Level 2), marking a significant milestone in its pursuit of excellence in education, governance, and institutional performance. This prestigious recognition is the highest possible regional distinction, with only the national-level awards surpassing it.

Notably, PSAU is the only State University and College (SUC) in Region 3 to achieve Level 2 recognition in 2024, reinforcing its reputation as a leader in quality management among higher education institutions. The award highlights PSAU’s unwavering commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and institutional excellence.

The recognition was officially conferred during a ceremony held on March 26, 2025, at the Hon. Rafael L. Lazatin Memorial Audio-Visual Center, PSAU. The event was attended by key officials from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 3, led by Assistant Secretary Leonila T. Baluyut.

The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Magalang, led by Mayor Hon. Ma. Lourdes Lacson, also expressed their support for PSAU’s achievement. The Mayor was represented by the Municipal Treasurer, Ms. Raissa Bayani, who attended the ceremony to show the LGU’s commitment to the university’s success.

PSAU’s leadership, faculty, and staff were also present to celebrate this achievement, with University President Dr. Anita G. David and Ms. Glenda Marie T. Maniago, Head of the Quality Management System Unit, representing the institution’s steadfast commitment to quality assurance and organizational excellence.

Receiving the Philippine Quality Award underscores PSAU’s adherence to international quality standards and its alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions). This recognition highlights the university’s dedication to enhancing academic excellence, fostering a culture of innovation, and maintaining transparency and accountability in governance.
