Today, a groundbreaking partnership was formed as Pampanga State Agricultural University, Angeles City Justice Zone, and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology Angeles signed a Memorandum of Agreement to launch the Skills and Academic Wisdom Uplifting Program (SAWUP). This initiative aims to provide Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) with essential skills and educational opportunities to support their reintegration into society.
Through the SAWUP program, PDLs will gain access to NC II livelihood programs like Hilot Wellness Massage, Bread and Pastry Production, and Animal Production, as well as pathways to degree programs in Agribusiness, Animal Science, and Crop Science. The goal is simple: empower PDLs with knowledge, skills, and dignity to break the cycle of poverty, provide for their families, and build a better future for themselves.
