MOA Signing


The PSAU Extension and Training Office, represented by University President Dr. Anita G. David, signed a memorandum of agreement with Barangay Arenas and Telapayong, represented by Barangay Chairman Hon. Joseph Sison and Hon. Rolando Sunga. This agreement aims to address the community’s agricultural needs and provide guidance on best practices in agriculture. It also aims to introduce modern farming techniques to help improve crop yields and sustainability. Additionally, the collaboration will offer NC II Training to enhance the skills of local residents. This training will cover essential areas such as crop production, livestock management. The signing ceremony took place at the 2nd Floor University Food Center on April 11, 2024. This partnership is expected to significantly benefit the agricultural development and skill enhancement of the communities involved. It reflects a strong commitment from PSAU to support local agricultural advancement. The collaboration is anticipated to competent agricultural workforce. Overall, this initiative will contribute to the economic growth and development of Barangay Arenas and Telapayong
Trainings


The Pampanga State Agricultural University (PSAU) Office of the Extension and Training conducted a vital training program on broiler, vegetable, and livestock production and the event was held at Tealapayong, Arayat, Pampanga April 16, 2024., with a focus on proper handling techniques in these commodities. Spearheaded by Dr. Amalia C. Briones, Director of the Office of the Extension and Training, and attended by PSAU’s Vice President for Research, Innovation, Extension and Training (RIET), Dr. Geraldine C. Sanchez, the event aimed to transfer advanced agricultural technology from PSAU to farmers in Barangay Arenas and Barangay Telapayong. The training featured expert resource speakers, including Mr. Perry Pediongco, who led the session on proper handling in cattle production; Mr. Carlo Cunanan, who covered essential aspects of crop production such as soil management and pest control; and Mr. Emmanuel Cabral, who focused on practical advice for broiler production, including feeding, housing, and disease management.
This program demonstrates PSAU’s commitment to empowering local agricultural communities by providing access to the latest technological advancements and best practices in farming. By enhancing the skills and knowledge of local farmers, the training aimed to boost productivity, ensure sustainable agricultural practices, and improve the overall well-being of the community. Attendees expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to learn from seasoned experts and pledged to apply the knowledge gained to their agricultural practices. This comprehensive training session marks a significant step towards sustainable agricultural growth and community development in Barangay Telapayong and Barangay Arenas.
Cattle Dispersal


The Extension and Training Office, led by Director Dr. Amalia Briones and Assistant Director Mr. Emmanuel A. Cabral, spearheaded a significant cattle distribution event to support local livestock development. With the collaboration and support of SCBC Assistant Manager Mr. Francisco Simbulan Jr., six cattle were distributed to beneficiaries. Three recipients from Barangay Arenas and another three from Telapayong, Arayat, Pampanga received the cattle, marking a substantial contribution to their agricultural resources. Prior to this distribution, the beneficiaries attended a comprehensive training session on livestock production. This training ensured that the recipients were well-prepared to manage and care for the cattle effectively. The event, held on April 30, 2024, at the Satellite Cattle Breeding Center. It highlighted the commitment of the Extension and Training Office to enhance agricultural practices and support local farmers. By providing these cattle, the office aims to boost livestock production and improve the livelihoods of the beneficiaries.
Vegetable Seeds and Seedlings Distribution


The Office of Extension and Training distributed vegetable seedlings, seeds, and agricultural tools to improve farming practices in Barangay Arenas and Barangay Telapayong, Arayat, Pampanga on June 14, 2024. The event was held at the Barangay Arenas covered court, and twenty beneficiaries received essential crops such as eggplant, chili pepper, okra, tomatoes, pechay, and mustard. The distribution also included important tools such as shovels, hoes, and seedling bags. Dr. Amalia C. Briones, Director of Extension and Training, led the activity and was supported by Assistant Director Mr. Emmanuel A. Cabral and Community Development Assistant Mr. Ronel B. Martin. Mr. Kevin M. Casanova, Mr. Nathaniel B. Pamintuan, and Mr. Joshua Alei S. Lacap also played key roles in the initiative, which received the support of Barangay Captain Hon. Joseph Sison and his councilors. This support ensured accessibility and community involvement in the initiative.
Broiler Chicks Distribution


The Office of Extension and Training conducted a distribution of broiler chicks to beneficiaries in Barangay Telapayong and Barangay Arenas, Arayat, Pampanga on June 27, 2024. Each barangay had 10 beneficiaries, for a total of 20 recipients. Each beneficiary received 20 broiler chicks, along with vitamins, chick boosters, and other essentials. The dispersal took place at Barangay Arenas’ covered court.
Prior to the distribution, Assistant Director of Extension and Training, Mr. Emmanuel A. Cabral, instructed the beneficiaries on the proper handling of chicks and their vitamins. The event was led by the Director of Extension and Training, Dr. Amalia C. Briones, along with Assistant Director Mr. Emmanuel A. Cabral, and Community Development Assistants Mr. Ronel B. Martin, Mr. Kevin M. Casanova, Mr. Nathaniel B. Pamintuan, and Mr. Joshua Alei S. Lacap. The Barangay Captain of Arenas, Hon. Joseph Sison, and his councilors supported the event by preparing the venue and providing assistance.
