Biography: | My name is Marvie M. Guinto. I was born on September 13, 1994, in Magalang, Pampanga. I am currently a permanent instructor at Pampanga State Agricultural University. I graduated from Systems Plus College Foundation with my bachelor’s degree in hotel and restaurant management and my master’s degree in hospitality and tourism management from Holy Angel University. Right now, I am a thesis adviser and college student council adviser. Moreover, as a Certified Trainer, I had been awarded by different schools as a trainer and shared knowledge and expertise as a resource speaker. I worked in different sectors of hospitality and tourism, like the Grace Crown Hotel and the Magalang Tourism Office. I worked as a marketing executive in the said hotel, and it was a challenging and fun experience for someone who worked first in the academy and also as an event organizer in the Magalang Tourism Office. I learned how to handle a post-pandemic event. I have been teaching since 2016 at schools like Don Honorio Ventura State University, Systems Plus College Foundation, and ACLC College. My parents were Maricel Macapagal and Victor Guintu, who are also from Magalang, Pampanga. My mother is an OFW in Israel, and my father is an entrepreneur. I grew up in an entrepreneurial family that owned a business in the public market. This is how I got my skills in managing a business where we sell dry goods like shoes, t-shirts, pants, and anything else we can wear and use daily. My grandmother’s management skills are where I learned my skills, which I continue to use today, and my experience in the industry is what I shared with my students. I always include an example or an experience in my discussion in class. With everything I experience, I always make sure that they learn and are entertained in my class. |
