On March 20, 2025, PSAU commemorated Women’s Month with a meaningful celebration at the Rafael Lazatin AVR, coinciding with International Happiness Day. Spearheaded by the Gender and Development (GAD) Office, the event honored the invaluable contributions of women across various sectors and highlighted the university’s commitment to gender equality.

The program featured a short talk by Atty. Sean C. Hayes a New York Atty at Law and an inspiring message from PSAU President Dr. Anita G. David, emphasizing the role of women in shaping a better future. Three outstanding women were recognized for their dedication and service: Dr. Amalia Briones, Director of Extension; Ms. Nancy Cunanan, a long-serving member of the maintenance team; and Ma’am Carolina Supan from the Records Office, who has been with PSAU for 45 years. Each honoree shared a heartfelt testimonial about how their journey at PSAU shaped them into the individuals they are today.

Other women in the audience also shared their experiences, adding to the spirit of empowerment and camaraderie. The event concluded with a fun raffle and distribution of tokens, ensuring that every woman present felt appreciated.

A heartfelt appreciation goes to the GAD Office for organizing this inspiring celebration, which truly uplifted the women of PSAU. Aligned with SDG 5: Gender Equality, the event reflected this year’s theme—”Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas”—highlighting the vital role of women in building a brighter future for the nation.
