Pampanga State Agricultural University – Formerly PAC (PSAU) and CIAC – Clark International Airport Corporation signed a Memorandum of Understanding on July 30, 2024 at the UFC 2nd Conference Room, PSAU. This landmark event, attended by officials including Dr. Anita G. David (President of PSAU), Mr. Arrey A. Perez (President of CIAC), Mr. Monico A. Puentevella, Jr., (Member of the Board of Directors of CIAC), CIAC Executive Committee, and PSAU Administrative Council, marks the beginning of a significant collaboration.
The partnership focuses on the Clark National Food Hub (CNFH) Project, aimed at enhancing food security and promoting sustainable farming systems. CIAC Chief Planning Officer Melissa D. Feliciano presented the project to PSAU officials, who expressed their intent to collaborate on various areas, including research and development (R&D) projects, extension and training initiatives, and capacity-building activities such as staff training and student internships. PSAU Director for Research Dr. Rogelio P. Carandang Jr. from PSAU presented updates on ongoing Research, Innovation, Extension, and Training projects, highlighting advancements in various agricultural and food production technologies. He also identified potential areas for collaboration, including value-chain analysis, farmer profiling, technology readiness, food traceability, high-value crop production, circular agriculture, smart agriculture, regenerative agriculture, and corporate social responsibility.
This event stands as a testament to the commitment of PSAU and CIAC to foster innovation and community development through collaborative efforts.
