The purpose of the program was to improve the awareness of the people in San Pedro 2 to waste segregation. It ensured waste management facilitation services for the residents and improved sanitation in all environments. Its main objective was to heighten the proper waste segregation and waste disposal practices in the community which would help to minimize littering and control the likelihood of environmental pollution.
This project aimed to enable the welfare of the local community through proper waste disposal and environmental education among the residents and students. Providing the cans to recipients aimed at instilling responsible waste disposal in the minds of people for a cleaner and sustainable environment. In addition to donating these trash bins, educational workshops were conducted to educate recipients about the need to segregate the waste properly, recycle, and reuse it for a cleaner and more sustainable Earth.
This meant that in addition to decreasing the proximal environmental threats, the initiative aimed to sow the seeds of long-term commitment towards sustainability within the San Pedro 2 community.
