The PSAU Stunting Research and Extension Program Team was recognized as the Best Paper Presenter at the 7th Luminary International Conference: Research and Education for Sustainable Development (RESD), held at Ho Chi Minh University of Economics and Finance, Vietnam, on February 20-21, 2025. Their paper, “Nutritional Interventions Used to Address Stunting Among Children from Selected Barangays in Magalang, Pampanga Amidst the COVID-19 Pandemic,” highlights the critical role of research-driven solutions in combating child malnutrition. The study aims to evaluate and monitor the effectiveness of nutritional interventions in addressing stunting—a condition that significantly impacts childhood development and long-term well-being.
This remarkable achievement aligns with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): SDG 2: Zero Hunger, as it directly supports Target 2.2, which aims to end all forms of malnutrition, particularly stunting in children under five; SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being, by ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being through sustainable nutrition programs; SDG 4: Quality Education, as proper nutrition is essential for cognitive development and learning, ensuring that children have the foundation for a better future; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, as international research collaborations strengthen collective efforts in addressing global health and nutrition challenges.
PSAU takes immense pride in the dedication and expertise of its presenters: Prof. Ruth T. Libag, Prof. Isabel M. Dizon, Ms. Darlene Jane C. Espiritu, Prof. Ma. Socorro C. Tuazon, Prof. Janet D. Hidalgo, Ms. Sharmane Y. Villanueva, Prof. Monaliza Cayanan, Prof. Evelyn Cajucom, and Mr. Clemente Jr. O. Boleche.
