As the campus lights dimmed, a sea of candle flames flickered to life, each one a symbol of hope, responsibility, and unwavering commitment to the planet we call home.

Spearheaded by the PSAU Student Ambassadors, the gathering brought together passionate volunteers and dormitory students in front of the Admin Building. The night was filled with laughter, learning, and a sense of unity as students reflected on the power of small actions—turning off a light, conserving energy, and choosing sustainability every day. Through interactive discussions and games, they deepened their understanding of what it means to care for the Earth, not just for today, but for generations to come.

Each candle that was lit was more than just a source of light—it was a promise. A promise that PSAU will continue to stand for sustainability, that its students will remain stewards of the environment, and that this moment will not be the last. The first Earth Hour at PSAU is just the beginning of a journey toward a greener, more conscious future.

This initiative strongly supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy, by raising awareness on the importance of reducing energy consumption and using resources responsibly. It also aligns with SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, as it fosters a culture of environmental awareness and collective action within the university. Most importantly, it embodies SDG 13: Climate Action, proving that even the smallest steps—like switching off lights for an hour—can lead to meaningful change when done together.

At PSAU, Sustainability Grows Here—not only in its fields, but in the hearts and choices of those who believe that a better world starts with a single light in the darkness.
