On Friday, April 25, 2025, Palawan State University (PSU) conducted a benchmarking activity at Pampanga State Agricultural University (PSAU), focusing on the enhancement of Extension and Training Services. The visit aimed to exchange best practices and insights on key areas, including the flow of approval for extension proposals, fund allocation processes, faculty extension workload management, and other relevant matters related to community engagement and development.
Through open discussions and collaborative sessions, both institutions explored effective strategies to strengthen extension services. Highlights of the activity included streamlining approval processes to enhance project efficiency, optimizing fund distribution to support sustainable initiatives, balancing faculty workload for better community service delivery, and discussing innovative practices in community development programs.
PSAU was represented by the Director for Extension and Training Office, Dr. Amalia C. Briones, Assistant Director Emmanuel A. Cabral together with Ms. Jocelyn D. Baluyut, Community Development Officer I, and the Community Organizers from the Extension Office. Meanwhile, PSU was led by Dr. Roy Albert N. Acosta, Ms. Remelyn A. Pelicano, and Mr. Lesbet Dacanay.
This initiative reflects the shared commitment of both institutions to advancing community development and education through collaboration and continuous improvement. It also supports the United Nations
Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, emphasizing inclusive development and the power of partnerships in achieving sustainable progress.
