Duties and Responsibilities
MIS Unit Head (Information Technology Officer I)
Note: The Information Technology Officer I will be responsible for providing technical support, maintaining hardware and software systems, and assisting with various IT-related tasks within the MIS department. This role will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of the department’s technology infrastructure.
- Maintain an operational database information needed for policy formulation and decision making
- Establish processes, procedures and controls to ensure efficient data gathering and information generation
- Develop uniform institutional procedures
- Work with offices/departments to evaluate and implement changes in systems and procedure to ensure the integrity of data to be gathered
- Supervise the Information and Communications Technology Unit of the university
- Knowledgeable in programming, network configurations and cybersecurity; and
- Other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the immediate supervisor or the head of the university.
MIS Secretary (Admin Aide VI / Clerk III)
Note: The MIS Secretary can be a permanent or contract of service employee. The secretary job description includes elements of gatekeeper, document preparer and organizer.
- Receives incoming communications and releases copies of requested documents.
- Assist in the accomplishment of deliverables and transactions.
- Maintains the cleanliness and orderliness of the office; and
- Other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the immediate supervisor or the head of the university.
Information Systems Analyst II
Note: The Information Systems Analyst II will be responsible for analyzing and designing complex information systems, implementing software solutions, and providing expert-level support to departmental IT projects. This role requires a deep understanding of business processes and advanced technical expertise.
- Build, maintain, modify and create database tables, indexes, views, etc. as required to accommodate application and enhancement.
- Design file transfer interfaces for electronic database input.
- Analyze and resolve troublesome database issues for personnel users of the university.
- Involve in the specific project’s consultations initiated by the MIS office.
- Assist in supervising data entry and other office operations as performed by other MIS personnel.
- Knowledgeable in programming, network configurations and cybersecurity; and
- Other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the immediate supervisor or the head of the university.
Computer Programmer II
Note: The Computer Programmer II will be responsible for updating and maintaining the systems, providing skillful services and responsible for all computer program logic design and coding activities.
- Responsible for the updating and maintaining the systems, also assisting in certain phases of the system design work.
- Provide skillful services for website development and MIS.
- Responsible for all computer program logic design and coding activities.
- Performs the day to day activities with the operation of the computer preparation of input data, checking, output data, scheduling, computer run set-up and execution laboratory maintenance for the numerous tape and disk pack files generated by the programs; and
- Other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the immediate supervisor or head of the college.
Information Systems Analyst I
Note: The Information Systems Analyst I will assist in analyzing departmental information systems, troubleshooting issues, and providing support for various IT-related tasks. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals seeking to gain experience in the field of information systems.
- Monitors and reports any deviation from procedures or policy:
- Provide needed data for analysis in support to internal operations flow.
- Supports software development group in data analysis for an effective system development;
- Organizes and analyzes material for efficient reporting and retrievals;
- Assist in monitoring or procedures, forms and other organizational tools to implement and manage office automation used in different offices;
- Maintains variety of file system and reviews user requests and requirements;
- Knowledgeable in programming network congratulations and cybersecurity; and
- Other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the immediate supervisor or the head of University.
MIS Network Technician and Internet Café staff
- Assisting the students and employees at the Internet Café for internet Browsing, Printing and other services offered
- Maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness in Internet Cafe
- Other tasked assigned by the immediate supervisor
- Weekly maintenance and checking of desktop computer in the internet café project along with other IT related devices
- Assisting in technical matters in the University such as Internet or Network related concerns
- Prepare and submit monthly report to the immediate head
- Provide Technical Support in the University
- Checking of supplies in the internet café
MIS Computer Technician / Computer Laboratory Staff
- Repair and troubleshoot of ICT equipment Network and Hardware on all colleges and offices in the administration.
- Re-condition of all the computers of the six computer laboratories of DCSA, DCpE and 1 AutoCAD laboratory of the DGE.
- Assist in the MIS Hardware and Network Unit, this involves installing and updating desktops or laptops ensuring software is working efficiently Maintenance of six CoECS computer laboratories.
- Repairing computers/laptops of faculty and related devices when damage has occurred, run tests on the equipment afterwards to ensure its working effectively before returning it to the user.
- Provide technical support on University and all College events and perform as LED technical operator on AVC.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting of CCTV on all colleges and administration offices.
- Other assignments that may be assigned from time to time by the immediate Head.
